Chapter Nineteen
âOK, Sophie, are you ready for your next surprise?â Polly was slowly guiding her down the corridor, the rest of the girls following.
âYES!â squealed Sophie, her eyes hidden behind a blindfold as she was led unknowingly into a dance studio. Theyâd just got out of a limo after a ten-minute drive, which had seen Sophie screaming and shouting out of the sunroof. Before that had been the cocktail making, then a light lunch with loads of Prosecco, followed by the life drawing class, and they were all a little bit tipsy, hence the screaming out of the sunroof. It was now time for the final activity before they met with the boys and continued the drinking and eating at the nightclub. Theyâd gotten booths in the VIP section, and, apart from the threat of karaoke later, it was going brilliantly so far. Now that most of the planning and prep was done, and especially now that Darren was no longer around, Polly felt like she could really let her hair down. Not to mention how she felt mentally. The decisions she had made meant that she felt nearly weightless and fizzy with happiness, both experienced and potential. As long as she didnât think about the prospect of dumping Darren.
The music started, Polly recognised it as âI am a Good Girlâ from Burlesque. The gorgeous, slow but heavy sounds of horns and saxophone, creating a deliciously naughty, slow, and sexy seduction. The dance space was kitted out with six chairs a wall of mirrors and soft red velvet curtains everywhere else.
âOh my God,â Sophie squealed again as Mya removed the blindfold.
âHi, everyone, I am Cherie De Lune. Welcome to burlesque.â
And with that, the girls watched stunned as the music got louder and Cherie went into a full burlesque routine. She had on a gorgeous sequinned bodice that was full-on rhinestone on baby doll blue satin. She had ruffled panties in the same colour, gloves that went up to her elbow, which she was now slowly taking off in time with the music. Polly couldnât be sure that she wasnât in love, a quick glance at the rest of the girls and they were all in the same state of adoration that she was. Cherie was stunning, her blonde hair pinned up in a retro style similar to Dita Von Teese. Her make-up sparkly, with dark eyeliner. She had a wonderfully curved figure that was being teasingly revealed inch by torturous inch. Polly had never really thought about it before but realised that she could be turned on by women, or at least by Cherie. As the music continued, she slowly removed the bodice, dropping it first from one arm and then the other, showing her back and hiding from view the front of her, until she turned, perfectly in time with the music stopping to reveal gorgeous Cherie in nothing but French panties and nipple tassels. She grinned and everyone applauded as the music stopped.
âThanks, ladies. Now I donât want anyone feeling self-conscious, you might not be able to dance like that on your first try.
